Trails were in good shape, firm footing with maybe an inch of churned up fluff. Spikes worked quite well, although a little more traction, especially on the summit scramble, would have been nice. I did see one person in full crampons as I was coming down.
At 11 AM it was snowing quite hard above 3000 feet - saw some people using snowshoes but most were doing fine with spikes. Summit was windblown with ice pellets coming horizontally, so didn't stay long. |
