Even though I was told that parking wasn’t plowed (because of the shut down), there seemed to be many cars at lot; but since I was starting late (noon), I decided to pay the 10 buck fee to park at the Cog Station) |

 | Comments: |
I chose going up the Tuckerman Crossover because there was a sketchy stretch that I wanted to avoid on the Crawford Path (that was confirmed by a hiker I had met who was coming down); and since it was getting late, I felt more comfortable following the cairns on that particular trail. Also, I needed this trail for my Redlining List.
And, although I did carry my snowshoes with me, I’m glad that I had on my strap-on crampons (and not my microspikes). There was a lot of kicking and “digging in†involved on that hard surface.
And not a soul was to be seen at the summit! Yes!!!! |
