Comments
Comments: thought it'd be nice to start the year with a nice sunrise hike. We instead got a nice view of some very grey, damp, clouds, and a curious little squirrel that we named Sam up at the summit to keep us company. Give him a shout if you see him up there!! :)

Fine and easy to follow - but hard to find the trail in the dark at the beginning. The small sign is to the right of parking lot #1 of the ski resort. We didn't find it, and hiked ski trails/bushwhacked until we happened upon an outlook from the Tecumseh Trail that met our ski trail.

At the top, we made a navigation mistake - we took the Sosman Trail route to the summit, and then thought we were taking the Tecumseh loop back to the junction with Sosman. Instead, we ended up another half mile or so along the Tecumseh Trail to Tripoli road before realizing our mistake. 2019 got us already!! all ended up fine though - however, the trail on that side of the summit is extremely deep snow, we were postholing everywhere and couldn't for heck figure out why, until we realized our error, and that Tripoli Road is closed so it probably hasn't been hiked much. If you do plan to hike that section somehow or other this winter, you will absolutely need snowshoes.
