With the govt. shutdown, I was expecting a messy lot... but the parking area was neat and easily accessible. |

Trail conditions were nice underfoot. Firm and packed, but not icy hard. Light traction would get you through the entire hike. A few of us used crampons on the descent, which also worked out very well. Entire trail firm and packed; No drifts nor need for snowshoes.
