Comments
Comments: Started off about 5am, Zealand rd was fairly packed and easy going. Hale Brook we used spikes as the trail was frozen from barebooters and snowshoes would not have been easy on ankles. Switched to snowshoes once on the summit of Hale and down the Lend-A-hand tr we go walking across top of the frozen unused trail. Was very speedy but one hiking pole casualty was had. We stopped for a snack on Zeacliff and off across the Twinway which was really tough walking. Seems like nothing but barebooters out here lately and the trail was too skinny and frozen for snowshoes but somehow we managed. When we broke out above treeline on Guyot with smiles on our faces in the sunshine with no wind the trail got much better (flatter with no post holes). We switched to spikes just before the summit of Bondcliff. A brief stop on Bondcliff where we met Meg enjoying the views and a snack. A short chat and a few pictures taken and off again on our last decent for the day. The Lincoln Woods trail was well packed with lots of traffic from hikers, bikers, and skiers. We made it to lincoln woods in just under 11 hours and it was nice to walk out without a headlamp. All in all it was a great day out on the Bonds with a fun group of amazing hikers.
