| Parking/Access Road Notes: |
Entrance to Mt Clinton Rd was snow packed from plow trucks plowing Rt 302. I rammed my way through only to get on an iced over rd. I did not go down into the parking lot, but rather turned around and parked on rt 302. The parking lot looked snow covered for the street. At least 2 cars pulled into the parking lot ahead of me. Most of the cars I saw on my way out were parked on the side of rt 302. |

| Comments: |
Many people on this trail helping to flatten the snow that fell the pervious night. Some had micro-spikes and others snowshoes. Either are good options for the trail in the woods. Traction needed at the top of Mt Pierce as it was all iced over with a only a small few rocks poking through. Weather was warm on this day (30's), but got progressively colder going past 3000k feet and into the cloud where the wind was blowing 30+ mph consistently with stronger gusts when we were at the top (~11am). Face masks, hats and eye protection made it tolerable. Very cool to have that different environment up there. Stopped by Gibbs Falls on the way down and it's worth the stop for the little effort it takes to get there. |
