Comments
Comments: sandwich notch road was covered in wet snow, a bit thin in spots. minimally tracked early, but more so by afternoon. at a likely spot we headed up the ridge that ends at the intermediate peak between weetamoo and east peak. mostly open woods all the way up with a mix of hardwoods and evergreens. snow was thin in spots, but got deeper higher on the ridge. we then turned to hit the east peak first. some tight spruce over a couple bumps before reaching the broad summit area. the highpoint is recognized, but it is worth a little dilligence visiting the multiple bumps along the high contour to be sure. we doubled back in our tracks then headed to the main peak of weetamoo with nice woods most of the way. some great stretches of open hardwoods then nicely spaced evergreens up to the ledgy recognized highpoint. we returned to sandwich notch road in our tracks then followed it east until we were north of hall ponds mountain then hiked up on a vague trail to the summit and recognized highpoint. from there we followed our tracks back to the car.
