Comments
Comments: Continued to explore the Trail Bandit map, going back to investigate a logging road that seemed to head right for this unnamed 1124' peak. I decided exploring that logging road would make a decent hike for today.
The snow was very crusty and supportive, but there were also bare spots. You could stay in snow in parts of the more open woods.
Hike began on the little section of Corridor 15 snomo trail that runs roughly parallel with Gilman Valley Road. After an easy ascent, pass a huge boulder on right, see logging road on right, heading in straight line upwards.
A couple weeks ago, when I descended Nickerson Mtn on the southern side, I snapped a couple photos of ledge outcroppings on this peak.
The logging road didn't take me to the top, but it took me close enough that I thought I could see a bit of blue sky way up there in between the trees and that was about where I expected those ledge outcroppings to be. After determining I had enough visible landmarks to avoid getting lost, I bushwhacked up the rest of the way, found the ledges and then found a really nice view from the top.
