19 Mile is a pretty wet, icy mess at the moment--snow, bare patches, glare ice...it has it all. Carter Dome trail is nicely covered, but somebody took a nice stroll sometime right before/during the rain all the way from the parking lot, over Carter Dome, and back down. It was almost comical to see the nice, packed snowshoe track with a single set of duck-footed foot prints stomping right up the middle. Watch out for the holes! Postholio seemed to have a nice day out there. Overall, trails are in decent shape, with the exception of C-M between the hut and Carter Dome, which was annihilated somewhere along the line. No snowshoes needed for the time being. |
