We came up from the south of the peak, via Stone Pond Road to South Road, Lempster. Road was plowed up to the SPNHF boundary as they were logging in parcel to the west. From where we parked (near logging) we were only 0.5 mile road walk to trailhead. |

Woods road; SPNHF Trail
As described, we parked fairly close as they were logging and the road was plowed to this point. We continued up South Road (not plowed) for 0.5 mile, to the trailhead (Ashuelot River Headquarters Forest / SPNHF). Trail was blazed yellow; super easy to follow; about 0.7 mi. The summit was fantastic. Open and bald in places, glacial scoured and scarred. Great views. A peak worth revisiting and taking friends back to. Trail map online at SPNHF website.
