|Lost and Found:
||A solid day in the whites, with a late departure I made it up and back from Madison very easily. Many people on snowshoes or microspikes that seemed to do well. I opted for my crampons for the ascent from the hut, and then down. Only a small portion of the trail was a little messy with post holing, it was a great monorail for most of it. The butt sledders cleaned up most of the mess as well. |
Everyone seemed nervous about the wind but to each their own. I'd guess 30-40 mph winds on the day, and there wasn't much to worry about if you had the right gear. Adams will have to wait for now, i wasn't interested in a pitch black decent if I got into trouble.
I haven't seen a trail report in some time, but couldn't ask for better conditions.
