Warm day in the 30’s. The trail is packed down pretty hard, especially as you get higher up. Wore spikes up and barebooted the whole way back down from Starr King to the trailhead since it’s not very steep and the trail is so hard. Snowshoes would be overkill. Spikes recommended but not really necessary. Careful stepping too far off the middle of the trail or you will posthole. |
