Comments: 2 of us went up Owl's Head on the Lincoln Woods side. We wore spikes up Lincoln Woods Tr, then Black Pond Tr and partway up the Black Pond Bushwack. Feeling some slight sinking (about an inch) in the pathway, we switched over to snowshoes and kept them on the whole day. All of the pathways are easy to follow. The river crossings were mostly iced over but care was required as it had thin and open spots. We had no issues crossing Lincoln Brook below the Brutus Bushwack. At the Brutus Bushwack beginning, there was a broken out path continuing up Lincoln Brook Tr. My guess would be that it was heading towards and maybe up the slide. The Brutus Bushwack itself was easy to follow but somewhat lumpy instead of smoothed out. This will require more snowshoe traffic. We encountered one other person out there, also in snowshoes. So 3 people total today in snowshoes. The summit is not obvious as the tiny cairn is buried in the snow. Once you reach the ridgeline and things level out, it is roughly 10 minutes to the summit. The heavy cloud cover made Owl's Head an excellent choice for the day.
