There had been one lonely snowshoer ahead of us but when we got to the Franconia Ridge the prints went left toward Lincoln. We broke trail up to Liberty and it was pretty tuff. Decided to try and get Flume also. The trail was easy to follow. We were walking in 6-8 inches of fresh powder with drifts sometimes up to my waist. A lot of work but a beautiful day with great views and very little wind. Met 3 young men coming up with overnight gear as we were headed down. They were eventually headed over to Lafayette. Took the bushwhack back to the car, it had about 6 inches of nice powder. |
