trail was hardpacked so only needed micros. However along the way there are plenty of frozen water ice sections so could have done the trail with crampons. From about jct. of Piper Tr. to summit it was dense fog with bad light. Had to really be careful finding the track. I did not make actual summit. Stopped at bump just before real summit by mistake. Met a few very nice people on the way down. The ice formations at the falls were really great. They are well worth the side trip. |
