Nicely packed trail from Camp Dodge to the junction of Imp/North Carter. The North Carter trail and south on the Carter-Moriah trail was postholed, looked to be a solo hiker. We smoothed it out as best as possible with two people on snow shoes. Due to the snow depth, there are many leaners and spruce branches on the upper part of the North Carter Trail and Carter-Moriah Trail. We both brought saws and on the way back opened up the corridor on the Carter-Moriah Trail from the North Carter Trail junction to Middle Carter. It was hard to even recognize parts of the trail near Middle Carter - big kudos to Sunshine and Bobcat who broke trail from South to Middle Carter last weekend!
A super big thanks to all those who went before and helped break trail and pack the track. Special thanks to Hikinguy for great company on such a cold day. |
