First winter hike on this route and I had a beautiful day.
Decided to go for it despite some trepidation going solo given the favorable trail reports from the most recent posters (thanks go to them).
Was 4F at the trailhead. Winds along the ridge were from the west around 15-25 with clear skies.
Met a gentleman who asked if I’d like to traverse the ridge together which I gratefully accepted.
I found the descent much more enjoyable than in non snow conditions- had a nice compacted white sidewalk. |
