Comments
Comments: I used Hillsounds all day but should have brought snowshoes (I know! They were not needed yesterday but today was not yesterday!)) for the ridge. All trails are well packed out with fresh, powder snow that was easy to traverse without post holing. There was only about an inch of light snow on the Basin and Liberty Spring trail. The snow was ankle deep along most of the ridge with the exception of the areas above tree line, just before the summit. The snow drifts near Liberty were about 6-12" and easy to negotiate. The drifts just before Flume were another story! They were over my waist and Nala wasn't able to get through them. I spent 5 minutes shoveling the snow with my gloved hands before I got enough traction to summit. There was only one other person out today and he turned back just shy of Liberty. Both of us used light traction on Liberty Springs. He switched to snowshoes midway on the ridge to Liberty and wore them all the way out so Liberty Springs is well packed
