Comments
Comments: Parked at the Tram lot. Trail was packed down-spikes would have worked but I wore snowshoes up and back. Around 3200 ft seemed to be new snow or drifts from wind-I was glad to have the snowshoes on. Some postholes/unstable footing around 3800 ft. Once above tree-line the packed trail wasn't as visible. I've hit that section a few times under those conditions before so I tried to stay to the left , which had helped in the past. The trail I made though is a bit messy, but it got me up and kept me close to the actual trail, I believe. Once on the Rim trail-it's very messy. Lots of postholes that are hard to see until you hit one, drifts that are somewhat frozen in strange shapes, and some drifts that aren't frozen-definitely watch footing till you hit the tower. Great morning didn't see anyone else-back to the car before 9:30am.
