Parking/Access Road Notes
Parking/Access Road Notes: York Pond Road plowed but slippery. The parking area at the York Pond trailhead is plowed but there is a small frozen snow bank that one has to make it over to park. I drive a Subaru Forester and I sadly bottomed out going over it. We removed as much of the bank that we could but it really is just a frozen glob. Unknown Pond Trailhead parking is not plowed.

Comments
Comments: The trail was a perfect packed out sidewalk almost the entire way to the summit. The recent rain followed by cold temps really solidified the track. There was one small section of severe moose postholing. About an inch of fresh powder the last mile to the summit. We barebooted most of the way then switched to spikes when we started slipping on the powder. Snowshoes (unexpectedly) got a free ride today.
