Comments
Comments: Beautiful conditions - snow depth approx 8-12" at base, 3-4' near the ridgeline. By day's end the route was heavily packed by snowshoers, but snow was still loose powder and unconsolidated; bare-boots and microspikes not recommended. HOWEVER, rain the next day (Sunday) at all elevations, which likely turned this trail into an icy trench. Microspikes may be the better choice until the next big snowfall.
