| Parking/Access Road Notes: |
Well plowed. More than "full house" today. |
|
| Surface Conditions: |
Snow - Packed Powder/Loose Granular, Snow - Unpacked Powder |
|
| Recommended Equipment: |
Snowshoes |
|
| Water Crossing Notes: |
Almost all crossings have open water but water levels are low everywhere. Most are a single step-over and for the rest is possible to cross on rocks without dragging snowshoes in the water. |
|
| Trail Maintenance Notes: |
Numerous bend-overs and some smaller blowdowns. I was able to remove most of stuff which could be described as direct obstacles. However, there are still plenty of places where you have to push through.
The short herd-path to view-point near North Hancock is completely blocked by bend-overs. I prioritized working on the trails (there was more than enough!!) and did not touch the herd-path. |
|
| Dog-Related Notes: |
All trails are now well-broken out and in good shape for dogs. |

| Comments: |
Some 20+ hikers on the trails today and they are all well broken out - more consolidated a lower elevation and less so at higher elevation.
More snowshoers than barebooters today and as a result the trails are in pretty good shape. However, the barebooters were slow and the last ones to get out - most likely leaving the trails a bit choppy. |
