Comments
Comments: I've never seen so much snow up in the mountains for December 1st! Packed powder the whole way. I used snow shoes as well as most others. The very few that were bare booting regretted it as I saw them sinking in the snow up to their knees. As I got higher the sun appeared and found myself above an under-cast with an epic view of the Franconia Range at the outlook! The trail was difficult to follow after that and hikers ahead of me were following ski tracks that brought us below the tram building. The summit building was closed. I was so looking for a beer and chili. :-( I took the Vista Way Ski trail back down and used the Kinsman Glade cutoff to return back to trail...much faster. A few fun butt slides on the descent.
