Comments
Comments: Trail had been postholed by a barebooter after I broke it out on snowshoes earlier this week. I tried to even it out, but it's still awkward footing for anyone who follows. Snow is still soft, so snowshoes are needed. In addition, the ridge drifted over with the winds last night, filling in the footbed. Snowpack is about 3 feet in the drifted stretches and at least a foot everywhere else (except for the mucky portions of Old Mountain Road, though the snowshoe track bypasses these).

There is a lot of snow in the mountains. Anyone heading up the mountain trails up this way right now ought be liable for full rescue costs should they end up getting in over their heads (figuratively and literally).
