Well we knew it was not going to be a completely easy day with all the snow fall. It looked like no one had been there in a while but we wouldn’t know. The break through crust with a few inches of snow was very annoying. The wind blew some icy snow off the trees. Once we were about to get to the col it was hard to navigate from few blazes and open woods. We still stayed on the trail and once in the col (we went counter clockwise) the trees were bent over with the snow made it hard to navigate. After the col and started to head up white ledge the trees were more covered and the snow became deeper. Once on the ledges it was harder to navigate with the rock cairns covered in snow and the braches full of snow covering the blazes. Well we made it to the peak finally and hit the high point. We made it down a lot faster and there was definitely more blazing than the other way. It was at least 2 feet on the top of snow! Hello winter! |
