| Date of Hike: |

| Parking/Access Road Notes: |
19 mile brook trailhead was 90% full at 8:15 am, most had to be going to Carter Dome, only saw a few on the trail |
| Surface Conditions: |
Snow - Packed Powder/Loose Granular, Snow - Unpacked Powder, Snow/Ice - Frozen Granular |
| Recommended Equipment: |
Snowshoes, Light Traction |
| Water Crossing Notes: |
open water brook crossings, manageable with some rock hopping, nothing out of the ordinary. |
| Trail Maintenance Notes: |
19 mile was pretty packed down, as was Carter Dome up to the intersection with Carter-Moriah, used micros on the way up 19 mile and Carter Dome, but barebooted on the return due to constant "snowballing up" in the micros- as soon as I turned north on Carter -Moriah, was snowshoe time, some deep snow(4 feet plus)lead to instant postholing, soft snow all the way over to South Carter, snowshoes worked great- saw one other person continuing onto Middle Carter , was wearing snowshoes also. |
| Dog-Related Notes: |
saw several dog tracks, 19 mile and Carter Dome trails would be easy going for pooch, but Carter -Moriah could be tough going for man's best friend due to the snow depth. |
| Bugs: |
NONE, another GREAT benefit of cold weather/winter hiking :) |

| Comments: |
perfect weather, about 30 degrees, no wind, sunny, hiked out before the wet weather Saturday night into Sunday came. From this point on, especially with the new snow this past Monday thru Tuesday, snow shoes a must. Enjoy. |
