Comments
Comments: Light Rain today until I reached the hut and it turned over to snow. Bare booted all the way to Lafayette summit, though I considered switching over to snowshoes. Visibility was quite poor up high and the fresh snow combined with drifts made locating the trail challenging at a few points. Only then did I really need snowshoes. I wore them from the summit to the car as it made the initial decent much more secure (drifts are at least 2 feet deep). Snow below 4000ft. was starting to suffer a bit from the rain so I think the snowshoes helped out.

With light rain continuing to fall, and more snow on the way I would anticipate trail will need to be broken out again in a few days, at least at higher elevations.
