Comments
Comments: This was a nighttime, moonlight Presi traverse (full moon night, bypassed several of the peaks). trail was packed in from Appalachia TH up to Madison hut, only needed microspikes for last mile to the hut, but at the hut put on snowshoes. Gulfside was largely unpacked deep powder, many cairns seemed to be covered over, v hard to follow the trail (partly because it was night, and poor vis due to blowing snow), and even in snow shoes I sometimes floundered in the light windblown drifts. slow going! upper Crawford path was lightly drifted over in places, but past Mt Monroe i was able to follow recent tracks for a relatively easy finish.
