Beautiful day on Adams and Madison, warm and sunny and very little wind. All trails were well-packed and in great condition from the start. The only exception was Gulfside leaving the hut: there were some post-holed drifts. The turn up towards Adams from Gulfside onto Airline was a little off course: the packed trail was a bit past where it should be but it eventually got back on track. On our way down we saw several groups of people not wearing snowshoes, which was starting to chew up the trail. With the warm temperatures there was some melting, so there may be an icy post-hole ridden trail in the morning. |
