Beautiful day today! Thank you to all folks who snowshoed and broke trail recently. Saw a mix of hikers with microspikes, snowshoes, barebooters, and my friend and I who wore crampons up Flume slide and backmdown to Liberty Springs. Unfortunately a group of about 6 or 8 of the snowshoe police made a comment that we should have been wearing snowshoes. We never once post-holed, and after mentioning this to the "police'" one gentleman stated that we were making a mess of the trail. If only we had known that there were requirements that we had to maintain a groomed highway for all that followed! Come on people, lighten up and save your comments for hikers who are postholing and really making things dangerous! |
