Walked up the Mack Ridge Trail this morning. Only one blow-down since October, up just before the first cairn, all but the trunk gone now; the trail is passable. The few dozen new blazes really help up on the Ridge—I didn’t get off trail!
I used my poles, as usual. I carried snowshoes, spikes, and wraparound chains, but never put any of them on. Boots sufficed. YMMV.

Lots of deer tracks. Maybe a bear track too. I’m not sure. Occasional human tracks, but only rarely on the trail, mostly criss-crossing, even up on the Ridge. Whatever the human was doing, there were no new trail blazes. Maybe hunting.
Saw and heard no one at all until a hunter on the way back down, almost into the BSA Camps.
For those looking to break a trail, it looked like the Red Trail South (from Round Pond to Bell) was unbroken.
I have pictures, but don't know if I can attach/post them here (scenic view on MRT + Round Pond frozen). If you're someone who still can't find the Mack Ridge Trailhead, I have a few pictures for you too.
