 | Comments: |
Haystack road is closed for the season so add 1.8 miles of pretty easy snowshoeing from the gate to the three boulder logging road. The bushwhack after the sandpit is pretty clear through the thick brush. Once things open up there are some very helpful pink tree ribbons to keep you moving in the right direction. I was able to break trail to within .75 miles or so of the Summit, but the combination of unpacked powder, steepness and frozen water in my pack lead to turning around early. A great hike nonetheless. Absolutely bring snowshoes. |
