| Comments: |
The first half mile was well packed down to start this morning. After that point, a few inches of fresh powder leading up to Mt. Surprise. Beyond Mt. Surprise, there were a few larger drifts, and a few more inches of powder on top of a pretty stable monorail. The monorail is fairly narrow so a few steps off and we sunk to knee or mid-thigh, depending. On the way back, things were much firmer and it made for a quick descent. It was a brisk morning with a steady wind, and the things got nicer as the day progressed. Beautiful views looking toward the Northern Presidentials. |
