I brought snowshoes but stowed them at the bridge across the creek at the trail junction near the parking lot. It was a solid climb (before these last few days' snow) with no need for snowshoes. I would have preferred to have them on the ridge, but it was fine without them.
There was no walkable ice on the water crossings but water was low and there were only a few places where I got my boots wet.
