| Trail Maintenance Notes: |
One major blowdown going up North Mountain. South Ridge Trail between Round Pond and the Shaw Trail junction could be blazed better. The bridge on Shaw Trail right next to the junction with South Ridge Trail is gone - there were tracks that used nearby logs to cross the brook. |

| Comments: |
Great loop around Pawtuckaway State Park, starting and ending at the North Mountain Trail parking area on Reservation Road. North Mountain Trail was very well trodden and easy to follow all the way to Round Pond. 4-6 inches of snow on the ground, and considerable ice on the trail. Some members of the group used spikes the whole way, but they were only absolutely necessary on the descents. South Ridge Trail from Round Pond to Shaw Trail was less traveled, but our tracks should be easy to follow. Remainder of South Mountain Trail was very well traveled, and the descent off South Mountain to Mountain Trail was very icy in spots. Not enough snow for snowshoes. Very nice views today. |
