Gypsy Hiker and I took a chance that the bushwhacks were broken out and not written up. Lincoln Woods was packed and light traction used. Black Pond Bushwhack had been traveled by a bare booter - we followed in snowshoes. This track led us to where we needed to come out but much lower and down stream a bit. Walked along the river on the rocks until connecting to Lincoln Brook Trail. This trail had been traveled on and is nicely packed now. The Brutus Bushwhack was not traveled. Followed LBT and hiked up Owl's Head Path. It wasn't bad but not desirable either. Packed out to the summit. Met two ladies coming down off the summit who did the two stream crossings. On their return, they did the Black Pond Bushwhack - so it is now nicely packed out but not necessarily the way you would want to go. Blue Skies and great company! |
