Comments
Comments: Only myself and two other hikers headed to the Tripryamids. Everybody else in the lot was walking the main trails or cross-country skiing. I broke trail all of Livermore and Scaur Ridge Trail. Approx. 0.3mi from the trail juncture with Pine Bend, the two other hikers caught up with me and we took turns breaking trail (at this point snow height passed my knees). A moose had recently walked up there and confused us a little as to the trail. Descending, I broke out the proper trail :) When we reached the trail juncture, I had hoped that other people had ascended via Pine Bend, alas no such luck. Broke a little bit of trail on Pine Bend. With the snow drifts it came up to mid-thigh. I decided to call it a day and enjoy the descend under blue/white puffy cloudy skies.
It was a lovely introduction to snowshoes and breaking trail again. Flurries were falling on and off throughout the morning and mid-day. No wind to speak off.
