Parking/Access Road Notes: Plenty at 19 mile trailhead.
Surface Conditions
Surface Conditions: Snow - Packed Powder/Loose Granular, Snow - Unpacked Powder, Snow - Drifts
Recommended Equipment
Recommended Equipment: Snowshoes
Water Crossing Notes
Water Crossing Notes: Major crossing has new bridge. Smaller crossings were easily crossed.
Trail Maintenance Notes
Trail Maintenance Notes: 19 mile was in good shape. Carter Dome trail is not blazed and has blow downs down low that you can go around. Trail is also easy to loose in this area as it is pretty open. We were on/off the trail but eventually picked up the trail before the last stream crossing.
Dog-Related Notes
Dog-Related Notes: It would have been tough for a dog today as the snow was so deep. But usually ok for dogs.

Comments
Comments: We were the only ones out this morning and broke trail all the way to Cater Dome. Meet some guys in the lot shooting for the Wildcats but decide to drive to the ski area and go up the pole cat cuz 19 mile was not packed out. About 6" of fresh snow down low and at about 3500' snow was about 12-18" with higher drifts at the way to the summit. It took us forever to summit the Dome and brake out this trail. A big thanks to Ashley for helping me brake trail today.
We were originally shooting for all the Carters and the Dome but having to brake trail we were just to exhausted to head out over the Carter's. So that trail is untouched. If your headed out that way i would bring a good sized group, cuz 1-2 people will be tough although the road to ridge is packed. We did see a solo girl 1/2mile up the Carter Dome tr when we were headed down. No snowshoes and small pack around 3pm. Just seemed odd.

Please get out and help brake trail! its up to all of us to do our part. Its not up to someone else!
