Unexpected beauty of a day. What a treat to be snowshoeing in November. I wore snowshoes car-to-car, but they are not needed for the first mile or two on either side of the loop. That said, at higher elevations there's a huge amount of snow! It feels more like late December than November.
Blueberry Ledge: ledges were snow-covered and reasonably easy to navigate for both me (in snowshoes) and my pup going up. However, I believe a lot of people did just Whiteface today, so they might be icier now from folks coming down.
Rollins: if planning to head from Whiteface to Passaconaway, you will need snowshoes or a deep love for snow craters. No one had been across when I broke it out early afternoon, and I didn't see any tracks aside from mine on my way down from Passaconaway.
Dicey's Mill: beautiful snowshoe track down to the crossing. Let's keep it that way :) |
