 | Parking/Access Road Notes: |
I arrived late (after driving through quite the snow swirling storm on 93 and through Twin Mountain) and got the last spot at 12:50 PM. Zealand Road is open and wasn't difficult but one must go slowly as there's a fair number of significant pot holes. |
|
 | Surface Conditions: |
Snow - Trace/Minimal Depth, Wet Trail, Snow - Packed Powder/Loose Granular, Leaves - Significant/Slippery, Slush |
|

Light Traction |
|
 | Water Crossing Notes: |
No problem |

 | Trail Maintenance Notes: |
There are 4 significant blowdowns at the beginning of the trail, approximately 10 minutes into the trail. They are easy to go over or around. They would require a rather large saw or power saw to clear. |

 | Dog-Related Notes: |
Only one dog out there and s/he was enjoying him/herself. No problems for dogs |

 | Comments: |
The trail was a lovely mix of light, packed, soft snow, slush, and/or wet trail (some with leaves, some without). I opted to put on my spikes within 20 minutes and left them on the whole day. I started really late (after 1 PM) so, thankfully, the trails were packed down. There's approximately 3-5" of snow but there's also lots of "bare" spots that have soft slush, water and/or wet leaves. No ice. |
