Trail was mostly dry and wonderfully easy, considering the time of year (usually lots of mud, ice, leaves, etc that make footing challenging.) Some minor ice/snow at the topmost section of trail, easily avoided. Trail was wonderfully quiet -snow making machines at Waterville haven't started, ski season hasn't begun. It's been a couple years since I last hiked Tecumseh and I'd forgotten how much it feels like a stone staircase :-) Obviously lots of love has been given to this trail by the preservation/maintenance crews. It's great to see the trail cared for, esp since it's a popular one that gets a lot of foot traffic. |
