Surface Conditions: Dry Trail, Wet Trail, Snow/Ice - Frozen Granular, Mud - Minor/Avoidable
Recommended Equipment
Recommended Equipment: Light Traction
Water Crossing Notes
Water Crossing Notes: More water in the brooks than normally around this time of year but all crossings are easy rock-hops. No ice anywhere.
Trail Maintenance Notes
Trail Maintenance Notes: Lend-A-Hand has 3 blowdowns on the lower part - one will be awkward with 2-3' of snow. Nothing new on West Bond Spur - but it will be a challenging trail with deep snow-coverage. Bring a saw! Lots of debris and small blowdowns on the Bondcliff trail (from Bondcliff and down). We removed as much of it as we could. 2 larger blowdowns about 15 mins from the former Wilderness tr. jct. They will be troublesome with deeper snow-coverage. Bondcliff tr. - from the former Wilderness tr. jct. to the bridge is littered with blowdowns. Most are on the ground and not a problem now but if they are not removed before the snow arrives for real (unlikely, I think) it means that XC-skiing on this section will be awkward.
Dog-Related Notes

Comments
Comments: Probably worth bringing some light traction although we did not use ours on this hike. The sections from Zeacliff to Zealand and from Guyot campsite to Mt. Bond have the most consistent hard crusted snow. Otherwise patchy ice/snow-crust above 3,500'.

As we expected we found the most consistent snow-coverage in the col between Zealand and Guyot.

A section of about 300' on Bondcliff tr. (the former Wilderness tr. section) is completely under water.
