| Comments: |
Big ol' mixed bag of trail conditions today. The Crawford Connector, although wet, had no snow or ice, as did the first few tenths of a mile of the Crawford Path past its junction with the connector. From there to the Mizpah Cutoff junction, patchy ice and thin snow started to appear, and it became more widespread as I got closer to the junction. There were still many large patches of wet trail, mud, and standing/running water mixed with the snow and ice. Once past the alpine zone sign, the trail and mountainsides had full snow coverage. The snow on the trail itself was anywhere from a few inches to a foot deep, with deeper drifting off trail. The Mizpah Cutoff was similar to the Crawford Path in that the snow cover was more widespread higher up and there were more wet areas down low. |
