Trail Maintenance Notes
Trail Maintenance Notes: Two Cardigan Highlanders trimmed brush from Alex 4 Corns westerly to the saddle just under the south face of Crane Mtn. We are happy and relieved to be able to report that in the clearcuts from the 2008 logging, the raspberries have pretty much been overrun by ferns and young trees like beech and birch. The narrow corridor for hikers we cut two years ago remains as it was then with only a few branches growing in, which we cut. Otherwise, the trail is as ever: quiet, very remote, and unimproved, i.e. no steps, drains, sidehilling or anything found on a popular trail. Very few people go there, so the trail can get by without such things. It is for those who like their hiking a bit rough. This trail does need its blazes re-painted next year, or sooner if willing crew and the right weather happen to coincide. Over to you, hikers, write back if interested.

Comments
Comments: The weather forecast was accurate: temps in 50s, breezy, bright sunshine all afternoon. Couldn't beat that if we tried.
