| Comments: |
Cold, windy shoulder season day.
The ascent up the Rocky Branch Trail was mostly dry. Trace of snow starting roughly around the height of land with snow flurries throughout the day. Height of land had lots of pooled water and mud, which was a pain to get around.
Engine Hill bushwhack was pretty mucky in the birch glades due to the recent weather.
Isolation Trail had extended areas of pooled and running water. Absolute mess of a "trail." Lots of blowdowns at varying heights which will make navigation tricky this winter.
Davis Path was also a mess with lots of deep mud and pooled water, as well as failed, iced over bog bridges.
Some black ice on the scrambles up the Isolation Spur.
Leaves are mostly down, but there was some late fall foliage in the lower elevations. Apart from a few folks on the summit and near the trailhead, only saw one person all day. |
