| Parking/Access Road Notes: |
Unfortunately the construction at the parking lot only included pit toilets instead of additional parking. Cars lined up along the road. Tripoli Road westbound to 93 is in pretty good shape and the foliage is good. |

| Trail Maintenance Notes: |
A few blowdowns in the lower elevations, and then a few stepovers between the peaks. Lots of continued unmitigated erosion. At one of the switchbacks, someone had blocked off the trail and aligned logs to make people cutoff the switchback. I threw the logs into the cutoff to keep people on the trail and stop this trailcreep and erosion. |

| Comments: |
Shoulder season is here.
Some leaves and muck initially, then lots of wet ledge/running water/etc. No leaves on the trees above say 2,500 feet or so.
Above 3,500 feet or so, there is about an inch of snow. There was no snow or ice in the footbed, as the ground is not yet frozen, but everything else (duff, trees, etc.) has snow. Will probably be wet going as the sun hits it tomorrow.
Fog and snow flurries were pushing out from the summits late this afternoon.
Lots of people out hiking, many still early in their ascent at 5:30 with only half an hour or so before sunset. |
