Comments: Went up Lowes Path on the 21st during the snow storm. Then came down mid day on the 22nd. We had to break trail slightly on the way up and two more hikers came up after us. A good pair of snowshoes with heel lifts proved to be a good traction solution for the way up. On the way down on the 22nd the trail was pretty loose(6-8" of fluffy snow on top of harder packed snow) from the hut down to the log cabin. Crampons definately were the way to go on the way down. At the log cabin we ran into 4 hikers on their way up, needless to say from the Log Cabin back to the car at Lowes Store, the trail was pretty packed down. With that said, it is safe to assume that they further packed down the loose stuff from the Log Cabin up to the Grey Knob Hut. Up towards the Quay there were some 2' drifts in the middle of the trail, but again, nothing that couldn't be overcome pretty easily.
