Trail Maintenance Notes
Trail Maintenance Notes: Ski trail easy snowshoeing of course. The short stetch to the peak was chewed up by ski booters.
Dog-Related Notes
Dog-Related Notes: I kept the mighty tough little dog on a short lease and all went well. He got lots of happy greetings and a few stop and visits. The ski trail was easy of course, he only had to work on the short stretch above it to the peak.

Comments
Comments: We met a guy who had gone up Polecat and over to A and back. He said two more were on that route, so it should be at least fairly well packed. I debated doing it but wanted to go down Polecat during lunch time.

We benefitted from news reports harping on the cold weather, an ungroomed lower Polecat ski trail, and lunch time for the descent. There was relatively little ski traffic as a result which made it okay for Pepper. For the most part there was little wind, plenty of sun, and temps in the teens - it was a great day to be on the slopes with wonderful views of the Presis, although I would have prefered to have been on a real hiking trail for Pepper's sake.
