Comments
Comments: Such a spectacular day! Despite first-years week and tons of cars we weren’t tripping over others and the crowds spread out. Minor mud esp given the previous day’s rain. New lodge looked great from the outside but was closed (first years week) so couldn’t see the new interiors.

I learned my lesson about hiking with an 11-year old WMG and an even older map. Intended to ascent the Asquam Tr but, silly me, it’s now accessed up top on the lodge road and not down from Gorge Book where we thought it was as the pre-Irene book/map said. Ended the day with amazing views and a trip to the Mountain Wanderer bookstore for a new WMG, so it was a win in all ways.
