Comments
Comments: CP bare-bootable to treeline, then snowshoes essential due to significant drifting. I suppose I did some "creative routefinding" between Pierce and Eisenhower, due to the trail being obscure in drifts (especially near Pierce), but I think I MOSTLY stayed on or near the trail, based on occasional cairns and some faint traces of earlier traffic. Trail in that section was a mix - some areas blown almost clear, some areas icy, many areas with deep wind-blown snow. A few icy areas on cone of Eisenhower required some extra care.
Just before I left the lot in the AM, a USFS Law Enforcement Officer pulled in, evidently on patrol. He advised me to avoid leaving any valuables in the car, since there have been some daytime break-ins in the area (most recently at the Eisenhower Wayside - x-c skiers).
